Simon Willison notes that Anthropic and OpenAI now offer API credits equivalent to $100/$200/$500 subscription tiers, which he says may let him ship public-facing demos since credits are already covered by existing subscriptions.

Anthropic renamed its $100 per month Max 5x plan to Max and its $200 per month Max 20x plan to Ultra, and removed the 5-hour usage limit for verified Ultra accounts starting with most existing subscribers. Newer accounts are subject to different terms, according to the announcement.
